The Beauty Industry is taking over and diversifying! As of 2017, the beauty industry is worth about 250 billion dollars! recently at a Becca beauty seminar hosted by Sephora in Houston Texas, it was beyond amazing to learn that the beauty industry is growing and changing and diversifying in many ways. With Makeup stores like Ulta, Mac, and Sephora being top leading beauty supply stores in the United States. A simple change like carrying makeup for lighter and darker skin tones has made the industry billions as of 2017

You may be asking yourself how this change happened. Over the past ten years, many companies have been releasing makeup that not only caters to lighter skin tones but also darker tones as well this has caused a minority of people who once before had very tough times finding tones to match their skin gravitate towards makeup brands such as Tom ford Lancome and mac. In many ways, this small adjustment had catapulted the makeup industry into a new bracket of 250 billion dollars as of 2017.With new releases of makeup brands such as nude by Nicki Minaj and Fenty Beauty toping the most demanded makeup line by celebrities and let's not forget Kylie Jenner lip kit which brought in a whopping 30 million dollars.

In 2016 statistics show that larger makeup brands beat out by independent brands with the same quality. Statistics show that a woman will spend over 15,000 dollars buying makeup alone in one lifetime. Independent makeup lines such as Rihanna's makeup beauty line reached a milestone in the beauty industry when she launched forty foundation shades including albino lighter shades and darker shades for the woman of color, who have had a harder time finding foundations to suit their complexions. From the looks of it, it seems like the beauty industry will continue to thrive and cultivate avenues for creativity and diversity for all ethnicities within the makeup world.
