Waffle House becomes one of the most popular breakfast franchises in the metro Atlanta area

Atlanta, Georgia- Out of 132 chains in the state of Georgia, Waffle house has become the go to breakfast restaurant for many Atlanta natives over the past couple of years.

The waffle house franchise has grown exponentially throughout the Atlanta region, and has even expanded to neighboring cities such as Decatur and Alpharetta.

Headquarters is in Gwinnett county, Georgia, 20 minutes outside the metro Atlanta area. The franchise dates 62 years old and was established in 1955 by Joe Rogers and Tom Forker.

Many believe that Waffle House is a cultural icon because the restaurant holds historical value within the state of Georgia.

Many Atlanta Natives and celebrities have included Waffle house in their music and even movies. International recording artists such as Mugs and Jermaine Dupri, have included the restaurant in their lyrics as well, In songs such as "Welcome to Atlanta."

Movies have also contributed to the growth of Waffle house after the restaurant was featured in, ATL the movie, Due dates, and a romantic comedy film called Tin Cups over a decade ago.

Once it was even confirmed by ESPN in 2017 that "There is no better restaurant that holds a great relationship with the fans than Waffle house."

Evidently, Waffle house has served as an inspiration to many creative avenues, after being featured in songs, news reports, movies and comedy routines.

As far as the revenue, Waffle house is worth over 400 million dollars as of 2017 and growing. Atlanta has more locations than any other city in America.

"Waffle house will forever be a part of Georgia’s history." Said Sandrea Williams, who has been eating at the diner since the 90's. "It's amazing to see the growth of the company, and all the new meals they have added to the menu."
