Boys and girls club a positive influence for the youth

Boys and girls club is an American national organization that has provided and encouraged kids to achieve greatness and success, despite negative circumstances. There are many success stories that have shown the success of the program over the course of several years. The club was originally created by a trio of women and was originally called the federated boys club before changing to boys and girls club in the 1900’s.

Although Boys and girls club headquarters is located in Atlanta, GA there is over several different offices located in major cities such as Chicago, New York and Las Angeles. Boys and girls club is considered to be one of the most popular youth organizations in the nation and the club even has many celebrities as members such as Ashanti and Cuban Gooding Jr., Magic Johnson and many more.

Many parents look to this youth organization to keep their children out of trouble especially in troubled neighborhoods. There are many positive activities that children and youth can partake in that can keep them out of trouble. Such as team sports, arts and crafts and tutoring sessions all available at boys and girls club. Statistics state as of 2012 4 million kids were a member of boys and girls club and today the number keeps on rising.

Many reputable organizations contribute to Boys and girls club of America to ensure the success of the program so it will continue throughout the years. Amongst many companies who have donated, Disney has donated one million dollars to boys and girls club for the development of the stem program. The stem program stands for the growth of science, technology and mathematics and encourages the advancements of childhood education.

Recently under Boys and girls club stem new program facilities have been opened in multiple cities and communities such as New Orleans, Orlando, Philadelphia, and Oakland. Boys and girls club hopes to advance their kids knowledge in order to contribute to the global economy in a positive way by providing a solid background and making sure their kids are educated thinkers.

As far as funding boys and girls club is funded by the federal government. They also are able to receive money through donations and yearly fundraisers. As of 2018 Boys and girls club has 4,100 different facilities spread out around the country. Boys and girls club mission statement is
